If you’re like us, you’re looking forward to spring and warm weather! So let us fill you in on the new Spring/Summer 2012 collaborations that will be happening.
Following in the foot steps of Versace and Lanvin previous seasons, swedish powerhouse H&M will be collaborating with Italian designer Consuelo Castiglioni of Marni. Men and womenswear will showcase typical Marni style, from vivid color to all-over animal prints. This juxtaposition will create a modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic theme. British actress Imogen Poots, wearing metallic printed trousers and a matching blouse with a white Peter Pan collar, was photographed by Sofia Coppola in Marrakech for the spring ad campaign. This new collection will hit the high streets on March 8th in 260 stores worldwide as well as online. Here is a sneak peak of what to expect.
Also in H&M this spring will be David Beckham’s new bodywear range for men, which is not considered a collaboration but a long term partnership. The footballers first independent foray into design features undergarments, T-shirts, pajamas and long johns and is all about comfort, fit, and style.
Russian model and philanthropist Natalia Vodianova has recently become the brand ambassador for lingerie company Etam. She hosted the brand’s first runway show in January, “Natalia pour Etam” at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. The line encompasses lingerie to swimwear, ranging from 20 – 80 euros and hits stores in April. The line will be recurring every season with a new collection.
The House of Mugler collaborated with Swarovski this year to produce a sparkly and exotic collection. Check out this film co-directed by Swarovski creative director, Nicola Formichetti. Click here to watch the video.
As prints have stormed the runway and high streets this season, so to has British designer Mary Katrantzou’s eponymous line of intricate and entrancing print dresses. Thanks to a spring 2012 collaboration with Longchamp, these cool patterns are much more accessible in the form of classic Longchamp totes and range from $100 to $500.
Other collaborations specifically for our stateside readers include Jason Wu for Target, Alberta Ferretti for Macy’s and Sam Edelman for American Eagle.
