The collision of art and fashion is hardly a new idea, but we just found out about shoe guru Jimmy Choo teaming up with contemporary artist Rob Pruitt this season to create a fresh, colorful and energetic cruise collection for Spring/Summer 2013. The artist, known for his vibrant, playful, and trademark panda motifs will create an array of shoes, handbags, and small leather accessories to be released in November of this year. Jimmy Choo creative directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway state, “We were captivated by Pruitt’s energy, his computer screen use of colour and the festive exuberance of his prints and materials; there were elements in his work that reminded us in subtle ways of the Jimmy Choo design iconography. We sensed that Rob’s twist on Jimmy Choo glamour would yield something very collectable and uniquely beautiful.”
Below, we reveal a sneak peak of this cool collection with the Anouk pump and Sweetie clutch. We see a fusion of orientalism, animal prints, and scintillating colors. We can’t wait to see what more Mr. Choo has in store for us!
