What better way to kick off Milan fashion week than with the Gucci A/W 2012 collection.
Frida Giannini opened with a military jacket paired with a slim, long velvet skirt. The collection was dark, somber yet “romantic” was the word she used backstage, “but not cute-romantic; it has a confidence,” Giannini said. The atramentous color palette encompassed an array of plush velvets, plum purples, deep greens, browns and luminous blacks.
A variety of aesthetics were offered, from innocent wrap dresses, chiffon skirts, military jackets, and leopard jaquard. Dresses clung to the body and flowed softly as the models sauntered the runway, whispering to reveal more through the thigh high slits. Any woman seeking a dark glamour will love this fall collection.
