With a nod to the English countryside as well as the big city, Christopher Bailey mixed signature classics with an edgy urban vibe at the Burberry Prorsum show during London Fashion Week. Aptly named “Town and Field,” the collection featured both aspects; including flouncy lace skirts, ruffled pencil skirts, herringbone jackets, waxed cotton parkas, and an abundance of country critters embroidered on shirts. Cinched bow waists and chic riding gloves accessorized the looks. It was a star-studded event with the likes of Will.I.am, Alexa Chung, Jeremy Irvine, Clemence Posey, Eddie Redmayne, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Mario Testino gracing the front row. For the finale, an artistic rainstorm beat down on the top of the translucent tent as faux rain fell inside on the umbrella-clad models.
