Riccardo Tisci‘s signature hard-edge style was present in every look at the Fall 2012 Givenchy runway, which was inspired by “Horse riding, Guy Bourdin, and Paris in the ’70s,” the show notes said. A strong lineup of equestrian-inspired looks comprised of equestrian jackets, slouchy jodhpurs, and chap-like knee-high boots trotted down the runway. This leather infused, almost dominatrix edge, was softened with ruffles, lace, peplums, bustles and rows of rhinestone influenced by the seventies photography of Guy Bourdin. Architectural leather dresses, structured coats, and over-the-knee boots created an angular collection meant for fashion-forward women who crave a dramatic and dominating edge.
