Sarah Burton brilliantly mixed fantasy, futurism and femininity at the Alexander McQueen A/W 2012 show. Silhouettes were featherlike, in an effervescent frothy sort of way. Voluminous dresses appeared almost weightless, creating an artful aesthetic. Seductively, shaggy shapes sauntered down the runway in goat fur, Mongolian lamb and ostrich feathers. Tiered ruffles, floral appliqués and doily laces were done in delicate blushed-hues. Initial white looks engendered a feeling of innocence and purity; preceding a determined wisdom and understanding with the final red and black ensembles. An innovative, progressive story unfolded in front of the spellbound audience; Burton aptly said, “It’s futurism with softness, not cold futurism.” And we couldn’t agree more; the collection is an absolute futuristic fantasia!

As someone who has a real interest in theatre the drama of Alexander McQueen appeals greatly. I wondered if the Blond Cheries could show me how to create ‘McQueen esc’ style outfits that could be worn ‘in normal life’.
Any advise much appreciated
