With Carnivale in full swing on the streets of Milan and Mardi Gras right on it’s tail, the A/W 2012 Moschino show emulated this quirky confetti mix of bright poppy colors on structured minis and coats entertained in the ’60s. With marching drums beating in the background, the models paraded the runway in shiny pleated miniskirts, graphic drop-waist dresses, ornate military jackets and brass-buttoned swing coats.
Reminiscent of the movie “Clueless” in the 90’s, this fun and vivacious collection is a titillating change from dark, somber glamour and reminded us of Cher in the movie stealing her mother’s chic and girly clothes and wearing them all at once in a jubilant mix. It’s never too serious, which is why it continues to be so much fun. Giant hoop earrings, patent leather platform booties, quilted handbags, cowboy hats, and heart necklaces accessorized each model in true Moschino style.
Our favorite piece was the sheer silk dress with fluffy blue feathers paired with an intricate headpiece and sparkling gold jewelry.
