Haute Couture is all about creating a dream world that emulates beauty and fantasia, where one can be effortlessly swept away by the effervescent gowns, jewels and atmosphere. But the true beauty of French couturier Bouchra Jarra lies in her ability to create this dream in a way that is not so distant, but rather attainable and real.
Bouchra’s streamlined and reserved style, complete with her signature wrap front, deep V-necks and A-line silhouettes effectively created a big impact thanks to the geometric shaping and coloring this season. These graphic diagonal prints paired with specifically placed cut-outs gave sensuality to an otherwise straightforward outfit.
We saw glimpses of the iconic school-boy blue blazer reminiscent of Balenciaga a few seasons ago, with strong shoulders and tapered trousers. Feminine alternatives in the form of A-line skirts matched perfectly with electric blue and gray high-heeled shoes. No jewelry or handbags were accessorized this season and fresh faced models with their hair swept up casually created the perfect harmony between a soft masculine femininity.
