This post goes out to all you fierce warriors struggling with post-chemo capricious curls, and unruly locks of hair.

Channeling 60’s Twiggy vibes I boldly rocked my short hair with a vintage @emiliopucci dress (thanks to my stylist @chloemontana ) at the Polo Lounge @bevhillshotel To many of you this may not seem like a monumental feat, but for me who was once defined by long hair, it took courage to take the wig off, and showcase this short, curly-cue hairdo in public.

This experience taught me to stand tall with my head held high. There is nothing sexier than confidence, and being comfortable in your own skin. Self-acceptance and self-love ignite an inner glow, and radiate for all to see. In a society that often profits from your self-doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act, so celebrate your own unique essence. Be bold, be daring, be a unicorn.

Today is a celebratory day and a milestone! It is

Today is a celebratory day and a milestone! It is my one-year Cancerversary. My heart is overflowing with gratitude and joy that I am here to tell the tale. One year ago today, a diagnosis of Stage III ovarian cancer thrust me into a tourbillion that positively changed my life forever.

As I reflect back on my journey this past year, I can honestly say my Couture Cancer as I like to call it, was ultimately a gift. Once I looked past the ominous clouds towards the silver lining there were many valuable life lessons, transforming truths and heavenly treasures that were bestowed upon me.

Cancer forced me to shift my mindset and perspective. Each day became a precious gift. Gratitude and positivity radiated from my soul. Simple pleasures defined my days. My appreciation for family and friends deepened even further. I learned to make myself a priority. Self-love became my mantra. I quieted my mind through meditation. Thank you @drjoedispenza I reconnected with God for divine inspiration, strength and wisdom.

It quickly became clear to me that laughter is truly the best medicine. Finding humor in a difficult scenario is essential for getting through it. Thankfully I am self-deprecating, so I spent much of this last year poking fun of myself. Like the time I took 50 DROPS of THC instead of ONE for my pain, and proceeded to get stoned off my ass for 6 hours.

Membership to this VIP cancer club does come with some benefits and perks. I am thankful for the beautiful friendships that formed, and the lasting bonds created with other teal sisters. You warriors have been my comfort, guiding light and inspiration. I am so grateful for all of you women! @young_ovarian_cancer_ Sending flutters of hope and love to my fellow survivors and thrivers.

Cancer, although a life-changing disease, is also an awakening. A call to action to make transformative change. While I continue to struggle to define my “new normal,” I am grateful for this journey. Even if uncertainty defines my future, I am certain it will also be filled with joy, love and miracles.

Thank you to my family, friends and IG family for lifting me up this past year, and helping me fly again.
